Late Pregnancy Reassurance
A Late Reassurance Scan is designed for those from 15–28 weeks gestation who would like continued reassurance as their pregnancy progresses.
Available between 15 and 28 weeks, this non-diagnostic scan aims to assess baby’s general wellbeing, including heartbeat, movements, position, and growth measurements appropriate to gestation. It offers a calm opportunity to reconnect and see your baby later in pregnancy within a private clinical setting.
We understand that questions can arise at any stage of pregnancy. Our approach remains gentle, clear, and supportive, offering reassurance while continuing to encourage attendance at all NHS antenatal appointments.
You must be over the age of 18 to receive a scan at Bumpology.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
Wellbeing & Heartbeat Assessment
During your appointment, we assess baby’s general wellbeing appropriate to gestation, including heartbeat, movements, and position. This non-diagnostic scan is designed to provide reassurance alongside your ongoing NHS care.
Calm, Private Clinical Setting
Your scan takes place in a quiet, professional environment designed to feel relaxed and unhurried. There is time to ask questions and understand what you are seeing. Depending on baby’s position and other factors, we aim to provide clear 2D images and, where possible, 3D/4D views during your appointment.
Growth Measurements
Measurements may be taken to assess baby’s growth in line with your stage of pregnancy. This does not replace NHS growth scans or hospital assessments but offers additional reassurance between appointments.
Keepsake Images
Printed and/or digital images are provided for you to take away as a memory of your visit.
Conveniently located in Bolton town centre
Bumpology is based within The Phlebotomy Centre in Bolton town centre. Our clinic is easily accessible by public transport and local parking facilities, providing a calm and private setting for your appointment.

Yes. Measurements appropriate to your stage of pregnancy may be taken to assess growth. This scan is non-diagnostic and does not replace NHS growth assessments or hospital scans.

Image clarity can vary depending on baby’s position, placenta placement, and maternal factors. We aim to provide the best possible images during your appointment, including 2D and, where possible, 3D/4D views.

No. From 15 weeks onwards, a full bladder is not usually required. Staying well hydrated can sometimes help with image clarity.

Babies have natural sleep cycles in the womb. If movement is reduced during your appointment, we may encourage gentle changes in position to improve visibility. If we have any concerns, we will advise you to contact your NHS maternity team.

No. Our Late Reassurance Scan is designed to complement your NHS care, not replace it. You should continue to attend all routine hospital scans and antenatal appointments.
