Reassurance Scan
Early Reassurance Scan
A gentle, non-diagnostic scan from 8-15 weeks designed to offer reassurance and confirm your baby’s heartbeat in a calm, supportive setting.
Early Pregnancy Reassurance
An Early Reassurance Scan is designed for those in the early stages of pregnancy who would like additional reassurance before their routine NHS appointments.
Available from 8–15 weeks gestation, this non-diagnostic scan aims to confirm the presence of a pregnancy within the uterus, check for a heartbeat where visible, and provide an opportunity to see your baby in a calm, private clinical setting.
We understand that early pregnancy can bring both excitement and uncertainty. Our approach is gentle, clear, and supportive, offering reassurance while continuing to encourage attendance at all NHS antenatal appointments.

Confirmation of Pregnancy & Heartbeat
During your appointment, we aim to confirm the presence of a pregnancy within the uterus and visualise your baby’s heartbeat where gestation allows. We will explain clearly what can be seen at your stage of pregnancy.
Calm, Private Clinical Setting
Your scan takes place in a quiet, professional environment designed to feel reassuring and unhurried. There is time to ask questions and understand what you are seeing.
Assessment Appropriate to Gestation
Measurements may be taken to help estimate gestational age and assess development in line with early pregnancy expectations. This is a non-diagnostic scan and does not replace NHS screening.

-
No. Our early reassurance scan complements your NHS antenatal care, giving extra reassurance and information between your routine hospital scans but does not replace them.
-
Sometimes it’s too early to see clear details or detect a heartbeat. If that’s the case, we may discuss whether a follow-up scan at a later date would be most appropriate or refer you back to your NHS maternity care team.
