Relax in our private Bolton scan room while your baby's scan is displayed on the big screen. There's plenty of time to enjoy the experience with the people you've brought along.

Enjoy seeing your baby's movements in real time, from little stretches and wriggles to expressions and movements when baby is in a good position.

Printed and/or digital images are provided for you to take away as a memory of your visit.

Please note: 3D/4D image quality depends on baby's position and other factors on the day, so clear facial images cannot always be guaranteed.

You’ve got questions,
we’ve got answers

  • Our 3D/4D scans are available from 24 weeks of pregnancy. What can be seen will vary depending on your baby's position and other factors on the day.

  • 3D ultrasound creates still images showing your baby's features, while 4D ultrasound allows you to watch your baby's movements in real time. During your appointment, we'll aim to give you the opportunity to enjoy both where conditions allow.

  • Unfortunately, clear facial images can't be guaranteed. Baby's position and other factors can affect the images we're able to obtain. We'll always do our best to capture lovely views of your baby during your appointment.

  • No. At this stage of pregnancy, you do not usually need a full bladder for your scan. You can arrive comfortable and ready to enjoy your appointment.

  • Yes. You're welcome to share the experience with your loved ones. Up to 3 adult guests can attend, and children are also welcome.

  • No. Bumpology scans are non-diagnostic and are designed to complement, not replace, your NHS maternity care. You should continue to attend all routine NHS antenatal appointments and scans.
