Our Gender Scan is available from 14 weeks gestation and gives you the opportunity to find out whether you're expecting a little boy or girl.
During your appointment, we'll check baby's heartbeat, movements and position before looking for baby's gender. If baby is in a suitable position, we'll also try to capture a glimpse in 3D/4D where possible.
You can find out during the scan or ask us to keep it a secret for your own gender reveal. Family and friends are welcome to share the experience with you.
You must be over the age of 18 to receive a scan at Bumpology.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
Baby & Heartbeat Check
We'll begin by checking baby's heartbeat, movements and position, giving you a reassuring look at baby before we move on to gender confirmation.
A Moment to Share
Bring your partner, family or friends and enjoy seeing baby together in our calm, private scan room. We'll also try for a 3D/4D glimpse where conditions allow.
Gender Confirmation
From 14 weeks, we'll look for baby's gender where baby's position and visibility allow. You can find out there and then or ask us to keep it a secret for your reveal.
Keepsake Images
You'll receive printed and digital images from your scan, giving you something special to take away and keep.

Gender can usually be identified from 14 weeks gestation. Accuracy depends on baby’s position at the time of the scan. If baby is not in a suitable position, we will explain what we can see and discuss the next steps.

From 14 weeks, gender identification is generally highly accurate. However, as this is a non-diagnostic scan, confirmation depends on clear visualisation and baby’s positioning during your appointment.

This scan assesses baby’s general wellbeing, including heartbeat, movements, and position appropriate to gestation. It is designed to provide reassurance and does not replace NHS screening or diagnostic scans.

After 14 weeks, a full bladder is usually not required. However, staying well hydrated can sometimes help with image clarity.

Occasionally baby’s position may make it difficult to confirm gender during the appointment. If this happens, we will explain clearly what we are able to see and advise on the most appropriate next step.

Yes, you are welcome to bring a partner or support person to your appointment. Please refer to your booking confirmation for any visitor guidance.
